本文以韩礼德的系统功能语法理论为基础,回顾英语主述位结构的分析理论。主位和述位结构是功能语法中语篇功能的重要组成部分。本文拟分析英语小句的主述位结构,分析主述位结构在语篇中发挥的作用,希望能够在语篇学习中通过主述位的结构分析更好地理解语篇。

This paper is based on Halliday＇ s theories of the System of Functional Grammar. It first makes a brief introduction to the literature review of the English theme-rheme theories. Theme - rheme plays an important role in the forming of the passage. The paper discusses the classification of the theme and the marked and unmarked theme, and then talks about the complexity of the rheme. Finally, it analyses the patterns of the matic progression. It is pointed out that theme-rheme theory is essential in language study and language teaching, and it is hoped that by means of the analysis of theme-rheme, discourse comprehension will be better achieved.
