摘要
作为改写与操控的一种形式,翻译活动是在受制于译者意识形态并在特定的社会政治和文化历史语境中进行的。本文基于安德烈.勒弗维尔有关意识形态的理论学说,以辜鸿铭的儒经翻译为个案,通过将其翻译活动置于19世纪末20世纪初这个特殊时代背景下的中国社会文化语境中进行分析,以期证明意识形态对辜鸿铭在文本选择、预期读者群的限定、原文内容的改写及翻译策略选择等方面的影响。
Translation, being one form of rewriting and manipulation, is restrained from ideology and processed in a given social and euhural environment. Based on Lefevere＇ s concept of ideology and taking Ku Hongming＇ s translation as a ease, this paper attempts to analyze the influence of ideology on Ku Hongming＇ s choices of original text, targeting of readership, the rewriting of content and adoption of translation strategies in his translation process by resituating Ku Hongming＇ s translation within the Chinese social-cultural backdrop of that particular period extending from 1898 to 1914.
