对当代“大学精神”的思考——从大学的历史角度解读“大学精神”

大学的发展史实际上就是一部改革史、一部革新史,在改革的氛围中不断凸显出大学创新的精神特质。创新精神是大学精神的根本,是大学存在的价值所在和意义象征,是大学在社会有机体中保证自身地位的根本生命力。"大学精神"包含着人文精神,对大学生进行的旨在促进其人性境界提升和理想人格塑造的教育,其实质是涵养人文精神。科学教育与人文教育的整合是21世纪大学教育的归宿所在。高等教育必须有利于人的全面而自由的发展,有利于人格的完善和人性的养成。适应社会的同时保持相对独立性和超越性,是培育其大学精神的本真命题。

Universities are always in innovative and reform state. The history of university development is actually the history of reform and innovation. In the atmosphere of reform it continuously highlights the spirit of innovation of university qualities. Innovation is the university＇s root, value and symbol, is the fundamental guarantee of university＇s status in the society organism. University spirit contains humanistic spirit, for university students the education to promote their border of human ascension and ideal personality mould, which essence is humanistic spirit. The integration of science education and the humanities education is the end-result of 21st century university education. Higher education must be beneficial for one＇s comprehensive and free development, must be beneficial for perfecting personality and forming humanity. Adapting to society and maintaining relative independence and transeendenee is the true proposition of university spirit.
