摘要
《菊》是约翰.斯坦贝克的优秀短篇小说,其主人公爱丽莎就像一朵菊花,而她的生活却像那套上"手套"的手,得不到自由。主要着眼于"手套"的象征意义,力图从象征视角探讨生活在男权社会中渴望自由生活的爱丽莎的心弦是怎样一步步被撩动,她那一"戴"一"摘""手套"的过程又是如何体现她的心灵波动。
The Chrysanthemum is one of the most excellent short novels written by John Steinbeck.Its protagonist Elisa exactly resembles a chrysanthemum,while her personal life finds no freedom,which is just like the gloves in her hands.This paper focuses on the symbolic meaning of her gloves,from which it explores,under the patriarchal society,how Elisa＇s heart for freedom is flipped and how the process of putting on and taking off her gloves symbolizes the changes of her inner heart.
