This paper elaborates the soft-start electric properties that electronic soft-start switches used on down-coal-mine mechanical equipments, such as large-scale conveyor, should possess,and briefly introduces the disadvantages and corresponding solutions of the soft-start switches in practical application. It also compares the differences, distingushing features and effects of two kinds of soft-start swiches, and introduces various kinds of protective measures and methods of the main circuits.
