With reference to vehicle braking theories and related documents as well as works of analysis,ratiocination and research,the essay identifies the secure distance a vehicle in the same driveway is supposed to keep under different driving speed,different road situations or different weather conditions.The result provides scientific basis to help prevent serious tailgating traffic accidents caused by ignorance of vertical secure distance and decrease such traffic accidents.
