知识城市是知识经济的产物和城市转型的客观需要,知识城市作为一种全新的城市可持续发展理念已经进入国际城市发展的视野。知识城市作为一种发展战略,自然有其一套硬性的衡量指标。知识城市建设涉及到城市生活的诸多方面,因此发展知识城市的进程必须得到整个社会的支持。世界知识城市建设进程在加快,中国要深入研究知识城市这一新的理论,将知识城市战略纳入城市发展规划。

Knowledge City is a product of the knowledge economy and the objective needs of urban transformation. Knowledge Cit- y, as a brand-new strategy of sustainable urban development, has a set of rigid assessment criteria. The construction of Knowledge City involves different aspects of urban life; therefore, the development process of Knowledge Cities needs strong social supports. With ac- celerating construction of Knowledge Cities in the world, it is urgent to explore further this new theory and to adopt this strategy into ur- ban development planning.
