This essay describes the necessity and importance of the safety evaluation of crane＇s metal structures, intro- duces the characteristics of virtual instrument testing technology and its successful application in field tests of a 450 t foundry- crane at Baosteel, and summarizes experience in the technology＇s field applications. As a result, a technical guarantee is provided for trouble-free operation of equipment, and information is made available for future reference in conducting any similar tests or analysis.
