聚物光纤具有模量低、直径大、柔韧等优点。它们在数据传输、显示系统、光敏元件上获得广泛的应用。介绍了高聚物光纤，特别是塑料光纤的研究进展。

Polymeric optical fibers(POF) has the advantages of low modulus、large diameter and flexibility etc. They are widely used in data transmissions, display systems and light sensitive sensors. In this paper,a review of research developments of POF , especially plastic optical fibers was made, also the future development directions were raised。
