Abstract The defect of polymerization for preparing polymeric dyes was brief explained in the paper.And synthesis of polymeric dyes by chemical modification of a polymer by a dyes were discussed in detail.It was introduced that aromatic chromophoric substituted polyacrylic acid dyes,aromatic chromophoric substituted polysiloxane dyes,backbone polymeric dyes containing isocyanate,aromatic chromophoric substituted polyacrylamide dyes,aromatic chromophoric substituted polyethylene dyes,backbone polymeric dyes containing soluble groups,backbone polymerizable dyes containing a nuclophilic group and an elctrophilic group,aromatic chromophoric substituted polyethyleneamine dyes,poiymeric dyes used in coloring protein material,and their application.
