Many follow-up studies revised and improved the Blau-Duncan Status Attainment Model which is one of the classical models of social stratification and social mobility studies and lays the foundation of that.This essay reviews the Blau-Duncan Status Attainment Model and follow-up studies under the gender perspective and indicates the necessity of gender perspective.It discusses the influence of gender and related issues to social status attainment in local cultural context as well.
