The opium problem was an important topic when Japan took over Taiwan, because it is related to the consolidation and maintenance of Japan＇s colonial rule in Taiwan. The Japan had found a way, through exploring the management of opium, to rule Taiwan effectively. This way and experience provided the reference for America and China＇s subsequent opium suppression, hence East Asian countries formed a joint interaction and interdependence of opium suppression.
