基于视觉敏感特性的小波域图像编码算法研究 被引量:7

New Image Coding Algorithm Using Contrast Sensitivity

摘要 以层树分集(SPIHT)编码方案为基础,结合人类视觉系统的对比度敏感性,提出一种新的小波域图像压缩编码算法.该算法首先对原始图像进行小波变换;然后根据小波系数分布特点,结合人类视觉的对比度敏感性对小波系数进行加权处理;最后利用SPIHT编码思想完成图像的压缩.仿真实验结果表明,文中算法是一种高效的图像压缩编码方法,其压缩效果明显优于SPIHT编码方案(特别是低比特率下). Based on SPIHT coding scheme,a new image coding algorithm in DWT domain is proposed,in which the contrast sensitivity masking is utilized.Firstly,the discrete wavelet transform is performed on the original image.Secondly,the wavelet coefficients are weighted according to the contrast sensitivity masking.Finally,the coding is made by applying the idea of SPIHT.Experimental results show that the proposed technique improves the quality of the reconstructed image in both PSNR and perceptual result,compared to SPIHT at the same bit rate,especially for low bit-rate compression.
