As a prominent constitutionalism specialist in the Republic of China, Zhang Yuan-ruo paid close attention to people＇s livelihood. His distinct understanding to the connotation of constitutionalism make constitututionalism get in touch with economy and people＇s livelihood improvement. His thought of people＇livelihood directly stemed from the theory of Sun Yat-sen＇s principle of people＇livelihood. He brought people＇s livelihood into constitution and established his own legal system of people＇s livelihood according to the theory of politieal economy on the basis of developing specific contents of Sun Yat-sen＇s theory of people＇s livelihood. Understanding his thought of people＇livelihood and constitutionalism had positive meaning to solve present problem of people＇livelihood.
