通过对2000-2008年袂花江吴川段（以下简称袂花江）塘口监测断面的监测数据进行统计分析，采用单因子方法评价袂花江水质，分析袂花江的月份和年度的超标和污染变化情况，指出袂花江的主要污染物是高锰酸盐指数、磊油类、氨氮和生化需氧量，污染物主要来源是农业污染源和生活源，并对袂花江的主要污染物和水质趋势进行预测。
