“任君”考辨

Textual Research on "REN Jun"

任昉,字彦升,是南朝齐梁时期著名的政治家、文学家和藏书家。任昉爱好结交,乐于奖进士友,得其延誉者多见升擢。时人尊其为"任君",言如汉之三君也。考察任君的内涵,可藉此管窥南朝士大夫阶层的价值取向和精神依归。

REN Fang, was a famous scholar, statesman,writer and bibliophile in Qi and Liang periods of the South Dynasty, whose another name was Yansheng. He liked to make friends and recommend them, most of those who had been recommended were accepted . At that time, people honored REN Fang as ＂REN Jun＂ （Jun means gentleman in Chinese） , just as three gentlemen in Han Dynasty（They were DOU Wu, LIU Shu and CHEN Pan）. To investigate the conotation of ＂REN Jun＂, we must combine REN Fang＇ s life with thought, REN Fang＇ s making friends and REN Fang＇ s presiding the meeting of Lan Tai. By this, we can take a glimpse of the value and spiritual direction of the people in the government of the South Dynasty.
