摘要
"接受理论"认为艺术作品只有经过读者(或观众)的积极参与和传递,才具有生命力,强调读者的阅读理解和创造性想象。一部电影作品能否在跨文化语境中获得成功取决于观众对翻译文本的认同和接受。影视字幕翻译要求在有限的时空里最有效地提供相关性最强的信息,观众的接受性和传播的有效性是决定翻译策略的关键因素。中国出口电影字幕在翻译过程中虽然造成信息缺损,降低了"信"的幅度,但是保证了"达"的效度,真正做到了"传而达"。
The theory of Receptive Aesthetics suggests that the vitality of artistic works depends on the active participation and transmission on the part of the readership(or the audience),thereby foregrounding the readers'comprehension and creative imagination.In the same way,the success of a film in another cultural context depends on the target audience's recognition and accepting of the translation.Subtitle translation demands that the most pertinent information be conveyed most effectively in limited time and space,and so the audience's reception and the effectiveness of communication are key factors that determine the translation strategy.The subtitles of many Chinese films in other languages,while being less "faithful" due to losses of information in the process of translation,do prove more "expressive" on the other hand,thereby achieving the goal of "effective communication".
