"四始"是毛公总结出的作诗的最高要求,也就是要求诗人把诗歌创作和国家的命运、王道的兴废结合起来。与司马迁在《史记》中说的"四始"无关。

＂Si Shi＂ is the highest standard summarized by Mr. Mao. It demands that poets need to combine poetry writing with nation＇s future and the prosperity and decay of the road of emperor. And it has nothing to do with ＂Si Shi＂ in Shi Ji by Si Maqian.
