Due to the great differences of students, the crucial problem for vocational colleges is how to improve the English proficiency of all the students in college English teaching with the consideration of the students＇ differences. With examples, this essay illustrates how to involve students in the learning activities that satisfy their needs, interests and learning styles by designing different teaching contents, processes and objectives to improve students＇ abilty in using English as well as the English teaching quality of vocational colleges.
