大同皇城气象刍议

My Opinion of Datong's 'Magnificence of the Imperial City '

所谓"皇城气象",至少应包括五个方面的一是阻山带河,规划郊畿甸服;二是高城峻垣,严闉魁闳;三是殿宇林立,楼阁云连;四是建坛庙以协皇极,筑寺观以礼仙佛;五是池沼苑林,林木花卉,望水云以刺舟,着裙屐而寻胜。此五者为"皇城气象"之必备,亦为构成"皇城气象"之物质基础。

Magnificence of the Imperial City should at least conclude 5 aspects of things： l） Dividing Mountains and rivers： 2） High walls for defenses; 3） Abundant palaces and buildings; 4） Temples and shrines for mystexy; 5） Lakes, ton,sis, rind flowers.All these are indispensable factors for the Magnificence of the Imperial City.
