Rhetoric is an art of language, and an advanced means for expressing ideas. In the course of college English teaching, fostering students＇ rhetorie sense ean not only improve their abilities of aesthetics, expand their thinking, but also cultivate their ability to innovate and their ability to analyze the problems. Some rhetorical examples are presented from college English textbooks and significance of understanding the texts is explored.
