The Regional Distribution of Poetesses in the Late Qing Dynasty and its Modernization

从纵向看,近代女诗人的地域分布继承了清代以来闺阁文学的地域优势,主要分布在江浙和安徽为主的长江中下游地区。从横向看,受到中国社会近代化进程的影响,在广东、湖南等近代化较早、较深入的地区,女诗人人数比例大幅度增长。这种影响可以从近代学术地理的变迁、近代词人的地域分布以及近代女子教育的发展、女子戒缠足运动的兴起等多种文化参照中得到反复印证。而归根结底,近代女诗人地域分布所呈现的诸多特征正是与整个中国近代文学、文化的地域走向相一致的。

Analyzing diachronically, the regional distribution of modem poetesses, who succeeded the regional advantages of boudoir literature in Qing Dynasty, is mainly located in the areas of middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in Jiangsu, Shejiang and Anhui provinces. While, synchronal analysis shows, influenced by the development of modem society, the number and proportion of poetesses largely increased in better modemized areas, such as Guangdong and Hunan. The influence can be repeatedly confirmed in the cultural references like the changes of modem academic geography, the regional distribution of modern poets, the development of modem women education, the spring-up of banning foot-binding movement, etc. In a word, the characteristics of the distribution of modern poetesses are accordant with the regional trend of the whole Chinese modern literature and culture.
