英美文学教学与人文思想渗透

The Teaching of British and American Literature and the Permeation of Humanist Thoughts

从剖析我国高校办学的功利性入手,通过对我国英语专业英美文学教学现状的分析和对文学功能的探讨,本文提出在英美文学教学中进行人文思想渗透的建议,并试图以实例说明这种教学方法的可能性和重要意义。文章认为,高校办学不可太过功利性,英美文学教学对提高大学生的文化素质具有不可替代的作用,充分发挥文学的这种"无用之用",英美文学教师责无旁贷。

Beginning with analyzing the utilitarianism in the way of running universities in China,the current situation of teaching British and American literature as an English specialized course,and the function of literature,the paper proposes that humanist thoughts permeate the teaching of British and American literature,and it is intended to illustrate the feasibility and significance of this teaching method with a living example.It is pointed out in the paper that running universities should not be too utilitarian and that the teaching of British and American literature is indispensable in enhancing the cultural quality of university students.It is an unshirkable responsibility for the teachers of British and American literature to fully bring into play 'the use of the seeming uselessness' of literature.
