罗素的婚姻观超越了常人的眼光。他认为,人类婚姻的基础是人的自然本能、性欲冲动和爱的激情;他要求任何婚姻道德都必须建立在人性的基础上,人们应正确对待性道德,充分张扬爱的自由,恰当考虑孩子的健康成长,适当承认婚外情;他对婚姻的基本态度是重本能、轻理性,重自由、轻现实,重情爱、轻责任。他的这些婚姻观引起了人们不少的争论。

Russell＇ s viewpoints on marriage are particular. He thought that marriage should be built on the foundation of the instinct, sex and love. He required that any marriage moral be set on the base of human nature, we should rightly treat with the sexual morals, ade- quately advocate the freedom of love,properly take amount of the development of children, and correctly acknowledge the extramarital affairs. His attitude toward marriage is to prefer instinct to reason, freedom to reality, and love to responsibility. These viewpoints of marriage cause a lot of controversies.
