牛至油主要成分为酚类化合物，具有明显的抗菌、杀菌和抗氧化作用，并能抑制家禽肠道有害菌生长，维持肠道菌群平衡，防止腹泻；延长营养物质在消化道中的停留时间；增强抗应激能力和提高动物机体的免疫力；提高消化道中消化酶活性，改善饲料养分的消化率。牛至油是理想的抗生素替代品之一，具有抗菌谱广、作用迅速、无残留、不易产生耐药性等特点，是一种极有应用价值的植物抗生素，值得在畜牧业中推广使用。
The main component of oregano oil is phenolic compounds with the effect of anti- biosis, disinfection and antioxidation that can restrain the growth of harmful bacterium in intestinal tract of poultry, keep the balance of microbial population in intestinal tract, prevent diarrhea, extent the detention time of nutrient substance in alimentary canal, strengthen the antistress and immunity, promote digestive enzymes activity in alimentary canal, and improve digestibility nutrient of feed.
