Perspective of Social Stratification:The Cause Analysis of the Establishment and Reform of England's Civic Colleges

19世纪中后期英国城市学院兴起及改革的原因众多,从不同的维度去探究可得出不同的结论。运用韦伯的社会分层理论,从社会分层的视角去探究英国城市学院建立和改革的动因,发现英国中产阶级迅速成长壮大所带来的对经济、社会、政治三个方面的需要是英国城市学院从最初建立到转变的重要动因。

There were numerous reasons for the rise and reform of England＇s Civic Colleges in the late-mid 19th century. Exploring this from different dimensions will lead to various conclusions. The paper applies Weber＇s theory of social stratification, from the perspective of social classification to study the cause of the establishment and reform of England＇s Civic Colleges and discovers that the needs brought about by the rapid growth of British middle classes in economy, society and politics became important reasons driving the establishment and change of England＇s Civic Colleges.
