在风云变化的中国直销市场上,有进有退,有舍有得,郑李锦芬却始终蓬得如何保住“直销的本质”,让安利公司持续成长。
Eva Cheng, the chairman of Amway (China) Co., Ltd. (Amway China), joined the American daily commodity brand in 1977. With a faint smile always on the face, she has led the company to weather the bumpy 15-year development in China. Amway China was ranked first in sales among China's direct sales companies with RMB20 billion (USD2.9 billion) in 2009, taking up one thirds of Amway Global's sales. This does not come easy. In April of 1998, the Chinese government suddenly banned all the direct sales companies and Amway China was included. This was the third year since the company was established in China's Mainland. Eva did not quit. She stopped operation and frequented government departments, expressing Amway's will to cooperate. Amway China actively adjusted itself according to related government regulations, and gradually changed the direct sales model to the present multisales model. Eva then placed a lot of image advertisement with famous stars as spokesperson, so as to save Amway's reputation in China. Besides, she opened 237 stores in 197 cities across the country. Though Amway China also tapped in e-commerce, it still maintained the direct sales model, which is considered the meaning of existence of Amway. Seeing the huge potential on the Chinese market, 'we still have a lot to do,' says a smiling Eva.
