寿山石因受材料、颜色和形状所限制,创作者总是"惜石如金",创作中强调"因材施艺""巧取俏色"。作者从自己的两件寿山石雕代表作为例,探讨寿山石雕的主要艺术特色,以及对自己风格形成所起的的作用。

Shoushan stone carvings are confined by materials, colors and shapes; therefore, carvers always cherish stones like gold and create works according to the materials and colors of the stones. The main artistic characteristics of Shoushan stone carvings and its influence on the author＇ s own style are discussed on the basis of two stone carvings created by the author.
