In foreign language teaching, the grammar-translation method is the oldest, the most influential and far-reaching, very often used and quite successful teaching method. To improve the quality of English teaching, appropriate methods should be chosen according to the actual situation of the students. Among the many foreign language teaching methods, the grammar-translation method, with its characteristics and advantages, has its own rationality and necessity when applied to higher vocational college English teaching.
