儒道的对立表现在许多方面,忠孝仁义是儒家倡导的重要伦理范畴,道家反对仁义忠信,却又阐论孝道观念,认为孝是人类本然状态的自然情感,所以在孝与仁的关系上儒道两家显然是相对立的。道家崇尚自然本真状态的孝观念,这在"二十四孝"的老莱子"戏彩娱亲"中可以得到佐证。
