The legend of Lady Meng Jiang is the result of accumulation of folklores of generations.In the long process of characterization and story＇s development,the image of Lady Meng Jiang was gradually shaped and became rich and mature.It not only absorbed the good quality and tragic sentiment of Qi Liang＇s wife in history,but also took in characteristics of images such as Zhuang Jiang,the Emporer Yu＇s wife,the Empoer＇s Shun＇s two concubines from ＂Book of Songs＂ and other classics.Moreover,it took in spiritual meaning in such folklores as Amah Rock and Nuo God.The tragic image of Lady Meng Jiang was created by people in ancient China from nourishment in history,literature,legends,customs,and so on.
