Bufo gargarizans Cantor is a major natural enemy of Oxya chinensis (Thunberg). In the rice field, the controlled plots are set up to study the predation and functional response of the toad to the grasshopper. The results show that all of the experimental treatments could be described by Hassell′s Ⅲ type functional response equation. The different treatments produce different effects on the estimation of paramters of the functional response.
