The characteristic of inositol, the main manufacturing technology, the best operational condition and the related advances were reviewed in this article. The features of the technol- ogies for industrial production of inositol were discussed and concluded. The status and development trends of inositol researched home and abroad were presented. Moreover the range of application, forground and market demand were discussed.
