日本漆树从九州岛的鹿儿岛辖区到北海道网走市地区均有分布。长野县的木曾地区位于本州岛中心，在明治时期（1603—1868）就是有名的漆器产地。

Japanese urushi trees, which grow throughout Japan from Kagoshima Prefecture in Kyushu to Abashiri Minami Koen in Hokkaido. The Kiso region in Nagano Prefecture, which is located almost at the center of Honshu, has been one of the most famous urushi ware production areas since the Edo Period（ 1603 - 1868）.
