Owing to its unique religious belief and way of life, the Druze is a special ethnic group among the Arabs. After the founding of Israel, the government adopted a "Divide and Rule" policy towards the Arabs across the country and the Druze was regarded as an independent religious ethnic group. Though the Druze enjoys autonomy in religious court and is integrated into the compulsory military service, they aren't treated equally in terms of society, politics and economy compared with the majority Jews.
