On Historical Relevance of Modern Social Changes and Cultural Transformation——A Review of "Social Structural Changes and Modern Cultural Transformation"

把近代文化转型放在近代社会结构的变迁过程中考察,确立了一种全新的研究视角;从分析近代社会结构变迁的历史轨迹和历史特征入手,明确地划分了近代文化转型的四个历史阶段,阐释了各个历史阶段上文化转型的基本内涵与特点;通过学术史的系统总结,提出了近代中国社会变迁和文化转型研究中应当着力探讨的若干重大课题,并对研究中的基础理论问题进行了初步思考,为深化和拓展这一领域的研究探索了一条新路径;应当进一步深化近代中国的社会变迁与文化转型的基本理论、基本内容和基本方法的研究。

Through an examination of the historical course of modern social structural changes, the paper proposed a completely new research perspective. Based on an analysis of the historical course and characters of modern social structural changes, the author identified four historical phases of the modern cultural transformation and explained the basic connotation and characters of the cultural transformation in each historical phase. In the light of a systematic summary of the academic history, the author raised major issues to be focused on in studies of the Chinese modern social changes and cultural transformation. Preliminary considerations in the basic theories were presented and a new approach to further studies in this field was suggested. The author claimed that more profound studies of the basic theories, contents and methodology for studying the modern Chinese social changes and cultural transformation should be undertaken.
