河运与城市经济发展的关系——兼论汾江河运对佛山名镇的制约作用

The Relationship Between River Transport and Municipal Economic Development

河运通畅是城市发展的重要因素。明清时期佛山名镇的形成就是由于当时的佛山涌通航各地。清嘉庆以后汾江河的日渐淤浅，制约了佛山经济的发展。河运对佛山的发展仍很重要，应开通河道，设制航运局。

Clear river transport plays an important role in the municipal development. During the Ming and Qin Dynasty, Foshan was known as a famous town benefiting from its far reaching river transport. But later, Fenjiang River was gradually retarded by silt, thus slowing down the development of Foshan. Since river transport is still a key factor for the development of Foshan, we should take some steps to remove the obstacles from the river route and set up a special bureau of river transport to administer the passenger traffic and freight transport.
