In the moral fiction Pamela, Samuel Richardson created a heroine "Pamela" with a firm belief in chastity. He described Pamela' s female virtue introspection through the contradictory dialogue from the awareness of contrast and integration, and moralized readers by their psychological resonance. The self - fashioning and self - enhancement process of Pamela reflected the rise of middle class and a female ethic of caring.
