脏躁属中医情志病的范畴,易发于女子,其病位主要在心肺,其基本病机为脏阴不足,神无所舍,魄无所归,以无故喜悲伤欲哭,数欠伸为辨证要点,至于条文中的"象如神灵所作",只是强调了脏躁患者悲伤欲哭的无因性,并非指其证候的变化。因此,脏躁可定义为"因脏阴不足,心肺失养而致的以无故喜悲伤欲哭、数欠伸为主证的疾病"。

Hysteria belongs to the category of TCM emotional diseases. It usually breaks out in the female, it locates in the heart and lungs, its basic pathogenesis is the insufficient zang-yin. Since the soul and corporeal soul have no residence, the patient has an urge to weep because of the happy or sad emotions for no apparent reason. The description in the article ＂it breaks out as if controlled by the God＂ only emphasizes the non-because nature of the patient with hysteria, it doesn＇ t refer to the change of its syndromes. Therefore, hysteria may be defined as a paroxysmal mental disease marked by depression and melancholy, lack of control over emotions, sadness with an urge to weep for no apparent reason due to the deficiency of zang-yin and cardiopulmonary dystrophy.
