喝茶与Jia Te均系饮茶的称谓。不同的区域,饮茶不仅有不同的叫法,而且富有各自的特色文化意境。杭州饮茶称喝茶,其内含的茶文化之道,重在"敬""礼"两字。"敬"指敬意,"礼"指礼仪。潮州饮茶称Jia Te,其内含的茶文化之道,重在"情""理"两字。"情"突出泡茶与品茗之时的情谊传达",理"突出泡茶与品茗中的原理。杭州喝茶的茶道意境,追求自然景观之"天人合一";而潮州Jia Te的茶道意境,则追求自然本质之"天人合一"。

He Cha （Chinese for drinking tea ） and Jia Te （ local dialect for drinking tea in Chaozhou, China） are both the terms for tea-drinking. The different terms for tea-drinking in different regions feature their respective peculiar cultural conception. In Hangzhou, tea-drinking is termed as He Cha, focusing on respect and courtesy and representing the pursuit of humans-nature harmony of natural landscape in tea cultural context. While in Chaozhou, tea-drinking is termed as Jia Te, focusing on friendships and principle for making and enjoying tea, and representing the pursuit of humans-nature harmony of the essence of nature.
