摘要
改革开放以来,我国英语教学一方面取得了令人瞩目的成果,另一方面“高投入多重复低产出”的问题并未得到解决,不少英语专业学生从初中到硕士研究生毕业,十几年的英语学习竞未能获得通顺流畅的英语书面表达能力,更无法就学术或社会专题展开比较充分的口头论说,因此引来“英语专业无专业”的非议。针对英语专业毕业生所面临的就业挑战,“交际研究型”应成为英语专业学科体系建设的未来方向,即在1—2年级阶段强化“语音语篇语感”训练,在3—4年级阶段应放弃传统精读与泛读课程,大大强化以英语原著为载体的文史哲等知识课程,培养独立思考、分析问题和解决问题的广义研究型人才,同时提高英语专业学生的人际交往能力。
Although English instruction in China has scored some remarkable achievements since the adoptation of the reform and opening-up policy, the problem of repetitive effort with low efficiency in spite of huge investment is still there. As a result, many students, after more than ten years of English learning from junior secondary school to MA programmes, are yet unable to write in natural English or talk adequately on academic and social topics, incurring such a criticism as "English major is no major". Against this background, this paper proposes that for graduates majoring in English to face up to the challenges of future employment we need to reconstruct English major in a new direction from a rein students' first and second years at university level and enriching their knowledge of humanities text and English sense" through extensive exposure to original English works in their third and fourth years in order to train top-level personnel with independent thinking and problem-solving qualities as well as interpersonal communicative competence.
