翻译中的归化和异化:沙译《水浒传》分析

Domestication and Foreignization in Translation: A Study of Shapiro’s Outlaws of the Marsh

沙博理翻译的《水浒传》一直被翻译界认为是归化翻译的作品。然而，通过研究译文中绰号的翻译、粗俗语的翻译、自我称谓的翻译和四字格结构的翻译，我们发现沙博理大量运用了归化和异化相结合的翻译策略。本文分析说明了古典文学作品中异化翻译和归化翻译的特点，指出古典文学作品翻译必将走上归化和异化相结合的翻译路子。

Shapiro＇ s Outlaws of the Marsh has long been regarded as the typical version of domestication. By studying the translation of nicknames, cursing words, self-appellation and four-character structure in Outlaws of the Marsh, this article identifies abundant examples of domestication and foreignization approaches employed by Shapiro. This article analyzes the features of foreignization and domestication in the translation of classic literature and points out that a mixed use of domestication and foreignization would be a tendency in classic literature translation.
