The major of ideological and political education in Yunnan universities has developed into a new era that features expansion of the enrolhnent scale, structural adjustment, improvement of quality and efficiency. The researches into the history of ideological and political education is an inevitable response to the Decision of Deepening the Reform of Higher Education and Vigorously Developing the Tertiary Education issued by the provincial government so as to establish a modern educational system and develop the modern education in Yunnan Province.
