村志是我国方志学编纂的重要环节，这是对传统乡里志编纂的一种延伸。当代纂修的村志无论在内容和形式上都突破了传统乡里志的框架。文章以广州天河区新纂修的村志为中心，探讨新村志所包含的丰富乡村社会史料，是研究传统乡村社会变迁以及了解传统乡村社会向现代都市转变极重要的文献。

The compilation of Rural Local Chronicles is an important part of local history, which is the extension of traditional rural Chronicles. The compiling of contemporary rural local Chronicles has broken the conventional framework of Chronicles both in content and form. This paper discussing the rich rural society historical which was included in the newly rural local Chronicles, with the newly rural Chronicles of Guangzhou Tianhe district as the center, it is the extremely important literature of researching traditional rural social change and comprehending the conver- sion from traditional rural society to modern city.
