别集是宋词书册传播的主要媒介,对词在宋代的传播发挥了重要的作用。词别集一般部头不大,成本不高,出版商可以多册印刷,因此价格也比大部头的本集、总集便宜,这有利于词集在社会上的销售流通。别集在保存作品方面有很大的优势,很少会有遗漏,诸多词作都会赖此得以保存。但是相较于本集而言,单行本别集容易遗失。

The collected poems,which played an important role in communicating Song Ci in the Song Dynasty,were the main medium of Song Ci communication.Generally,the collected books of Song Ci is small,the price is not high,publishers can print many copies,the price is cheaper than that of total sets,which is helpful to marketing and distributing Song Ci in the society.The collected poems have great advantages in the preservation of works,the phenomena of works loss was uncommon,many Ci works can be preserved because of it.But compared with total sets,it is easy for the separate edition to lose.
