从《中国文化与基督教的冲撞》译瑕看翻译的难度

Viewing the difficulty of translation from the translation defect of Confrontation Between Chinese Culture and Christianism

通过阅读法国汉学家谢和耐(Jacques Gernet)所著《中国与基督教的冲击——一种文化冲突》一书可以发现,此书在翻译中存在很多不足,最主要表现在漏译、错译、中译文与原文意思相佐、缺乏原文的佐证等几方面。这就提醒人们,在做学术著作翻译时,译者不但要具备较高的外文功底,同时还应具备较高学识素养,尤其是对两国文化及其差异的掌握更为重要。同时还要求译者要对工作一丝不苟,耐心对照原文,以防漏译、错译,甚至意思相左等常见失误的发生。

By reading Confrontation Between Chinese Culture and Christianism,written by Jacques Gernet,French Sinologist,finds out there are many defects in the translation of this book,mainly show as pretermissions,mistranslation,translation conflicts with the original text,lacks of original text′s evidence.These remind persons：when translates composition,translator should have not only higher foreign language competence,but also higher academic quality,especially it is very important to grasp two countries′ culture and difference.At the same time,translator should be meticulous for work,collate original text patiently so as to prevent the pretermissions,mistranslation,meaning conflict and other familiar mistakes.
