The Literary Ontology of "Upholding both the Morality and Literature"——The relationship between "literature" and "morality" in Yang Wanli's literary thought

杨万里是南宋创作成就斐然的文学家,也是一位著名的理学家。他的文学主张兼顾了理学与文学两个方面的特点。一方面,强调作者道德修养的重要性,强调"文以载道"、"文以致用",要有益于社会民生;同时,也重视文章的气骨与文学的独创性。本文主要探讨杨万里文学思想中关于"文"与"道"的关系。

Yang Wanli was not only an outstanding writer of the Southern Song Dynasty,but also a Neo-Confucian.His literary stand takes into account both the Neo-Confucianism and the literature.It emphasizes,on the one hand,the importance of the writer＇s moral cultivation,that is,＂the function of literature is to convey the moral principles＂,＂to be practical＂,to be favorable to the people＇s livelihood;on the other hand,it values article＇s moral strength and originality.The relationship between ＂literature＂ and ＂morality＂ in Yang Wanli＇s literary thought is mainly discussed.
