In recent years, along with the increase of patient self- awareness,patient safety has become a subject to which the international attaches great importance. Concerned about patient safety, to create a win - win situation physician - patient relationship is the goal of the modern health care service model. The paper described the concept of patient safety and barriers, introduced research directions of the international patient safety barrier systems, and provided guidance to improve our country＇s patient safety barrier systems.
