摘要
基于TCP/IP协议的端结点不能把网络级可保证质量服务扩展为端到端的应用级,研究了一个用于ATM网络的端结点可控服务质量协议结构.该结构核心是资源管理,把应用程序的服务质量参数定义分别映射为端结点和网络资源需求,执行资源允许测试,给应用进程和协议处理分配、保留端结点资源,同时请求网络系统分配网络资源,从而为多媒体应用提供端到端可保证服务质量.并讨论了QNX实时操作系统下在用户层实现该网络协议的方法和问题.
To support networked multimedia applications needs both end systems and network systems to provide quality of service guaranteed. The new QoS controlled protocol architecture based on ATM network was presented. The protocol architecture mainly cosists of a QoS signaling component and a transport protocol component. The QoS signaling component serves as a QoS manager, translates application level QoS specifications into resource requirements, and uses admission tests to reserve and allocate resources to application processes. The transport protocol component implements a set of basic services, such as data segmentation and reassembly, data moving and copying, which is easy to build complicated service to meet different transport requirements. To implement the protocol architecture in the QNX operating system, the user level methods and some issues were also discussed.
