沈从文在他湘西作品中对少女形象倾注了极大的热情。翠翠、萧萧、三三,三位美丽的少女是其中的代表。三位少女懵懂的初恋中的细微感受展示了美好生活,但是结局却都笼罩着一层淡淡的悲剧色彩,这种悲剧并不是人为造成的,而是阴差阳错的命运安排。

Shen Congwen devoted great passion to images of young girl in his works of western Hunan, Cui Cui, Xiao Xiao and San San are three beautiful young girls who are representatives of those images. The fine feelings from three girls＇ innocent first love show a beautiful life, however, light tragic colors always hang over the endings. These kinds of tragedy are accidental wrong fate arrangements rather than human factors.
